OUR PHILOSOPHY
At WindSkills we :-
1. Provide all students with study manuals and training aids. (to be kept by students at end.)
2. Because our courses are limited to 3 persons we can tailor the instruction to your previous experience and existing knowledge to reduce instruction time and reduce costs .
3. Have available various craft for practical training including multihulls and keelboats.
4. Students can consolidate their skills on club members boats whilst sailing in twilight and overnight races. Students may also opt for deliveries to Australian or foreign ports or work as deck crew on charter yachts sailing the Whitsundays.
5. All courses are staged to give you maximum confidence using patience and practice by our Instructors who live for sailing.
6. With WindSkills you do the full Competent crew course not just the practical course, as you must do the Small Craft Safety Course to receive your certificate. Before booking make sure that the school you book with, does both the theory and practical as contrary to what you may be told you MUST complete both to receive a certificate.
7. We do not include snorkling ,visiting Whithaven Beach etc. as part of the course as we believe that this is a tourism operation not Sail Training and downgrades instruction and reduces the certificate to having little worth.
8. We have trained over 800 students from all over the world.
If you wish to see the Whitsundays we can arrange for you to go as a volunteer (free trip) on a charter boat.( you will require a minimum of competent crew to do this)
YOUR CHOICE IS BASICALLY DO YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO SAIL AND ARE SERIOUS ABOUT IT OR DO YOU WISH TO RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE BUT NEVER HAVE THE CONFIDENCE TO USE IT.
Phone 0405612233 or use the Contact Us page if you have any further enquires
